1953 Mercedes Benz 300 Cabriolet

Here is the super rarely seen California dry example of the 4- door cabriolet. This one starts right up no smoke and sounds real strong .We drove it on the trailer to bring it back so the transmission is working fine along with the brakes. The electrical system is in good shape as it starts on its own the turn signals work properly and the radio plays nicely. The car has all good parts in nice shape for an easy cosmetic restoration on a solid chassis. An authentic car that remains factory original except the one repaint in white that the owner tells us he had done in 72.The original color combination is the pastel pale green with burgundy interior from the factory you can still see some green peeking through under the white in the pictures. A super solid body this car has a rust free under side and frame. The only sign of rust is some surface rust under the rear seat area but no holes. The car was last registered in 1974 just stored and always kept running so it is a very original car that remains well preserved from lack of use. The dry hot area of the storage was rough on the interior but the door panel map pouches are still working and other interior patterns are discernable for the upholsterer to copy in new material. The trunk still has the jack and associated tool along with the factory dual spare tires one looking like an original unused tire.
