1953 Mercedes Benz 220A Cabriolet
Here is a real barn stored car for the last 20 years that was never in an accident that we can see or left out in the weather for the underside to rust. Other than the surface rust on the body you can see in the pictures the car remains rust free and solid. The body is very nice with very few dents and will look fabulous in bare metal. Before being repainted very little body work will need to be done mostly just prepping for paint. The parts seem to be mostly intact and in good condition for restoring at the time of paint. The interior remains intact and seems original you will want to replace it as it is dry and brittle from the barn storage with the hot and cold weather changes over the years. The gauges look good with all the small interior parts being in place including the visors it seems real complete also. The doors, hood and trunk all work as designed with the hinges and levers and they don’t sag or flex upon opening and closing showing the strength of the Mercedes built automobile body. The little ginger bread items all seem intact also like the body maker badges and trim tags. Spare in the trunk with the tire wrench spare and jack along with some manuals for the car. The car is up and running and sounds good the rest of the mechanical systems will need to be checked before the car is operable but we were told when they drove it in the barn and parked it 20 years ago it ran fine.
