Dual Cowl Phaeton La Grande body number 1007 was manufactured 12/6/32.Believed to be delivered and sold to the Dusenberg Motors of New York city.Reportedly for a period of time this Phaeton was owned by Manning of the Cord Corporation as a factory demonstration model.Individual ownership records including photographs from the 1940's are documented to current ownership.
In 1961 chassis # 2498 was exchanged with chassis # 2355.Originally chassis # 2355 was bodied with a Murphy convertible sedan with engine J - 334.
The Murphy convertible body was removed from chassis # 2355 and has since been re-used.
The Phaeton body # 1007 was placed on chassis # 2355 straightened and repaired from years of documented service.The fenders were restored to open fenders and 19" wheels installed.
Currently referenced by the engine number J - 281,this Dual Cowl Phaeton remains today as refurbished in the early 1960's.
