Original California Dune Buggy

Frank built this car back in 1970, used it a couple of times and stopped registering it in 1982. He still liked to tinker with it, kept a fresh battery in it and the tank was drained. After three years of looking at this car sitting up in his garage, while out walking the dog, I finally got the car. All the gel coat is original, he did not remember the name of the kit but it has a bump on the hood for the gas guage like a hood tachometer on Firebird or GTO.

Since the first photos the car now has new brakes, new tires and wheels. It runs and drives great and turns heads going down the street. The motor is believed to be a stock 1600 single port with a Solex carburetor. The brakes and clutch work great. Second gear sincro should be replaced. The windshield is cracked and will be replaced prior to sale. The off-road roof lights are not wired in. Car is titled as 1957 Volkswagen and has an original California Pink slip. It comes with a custom tow bar made for the car another set of bumpers, and the second set of aluminum wheels.
