1970 280sl Mercedes Benz

This 280sl was sold new at Walters Mercedes Benz in Riverside California. A copy of the original sales contract, factory order card, its original books, 1970 issued California license plates, Walters Mercedes Benz frames from the delivery dealer, service records verifying 70,120 original miles. The original owner sold it to a family friend a few years ago, and we bought the car from them. It is a two owner car that has never left Southern California. Most of the photos on this page are from when we bought the car still in its original paint. No rust issues, original fenders, hood, chrome, and original soft top. We later had the car repainted to rid it of 36 years of either to big a person or too small of a garage door dings down both sides. The lower photos show the car with new Goodyear white wall tires and the car with its new paint. Bumpers, lights, door handles, windshield were all pulled before the car was repainted and there is no overspray. Finally, we just had the car serviced at Marx in Costa Mesa who has a very well known reputation for 300sl and 190sl restorations. I would be happy to fax a copy to any perspective buyer on those few repairs they felt it needed. The drives fantastic, the A/C works great, transmission shifts great, steering is tight, bottom line you will have to look at a lot of Pagodas before you find a more honest proper driving car.
