1966 ASA 1000 GT
#1252 of 52 built by the Bizzarrini & Enzo collaboration well received but bad economics seemed to of ended this endeavor. The car is possibly the last produced and the speedometer shows 34,000 kilometers or approximately 20,000 miles. An original silver car with one repaint many years ago it still has all it’s original interior in red with original weather stripping still in excellent condition. Complete and intact from the knock of wheels to the original dealer sticker on the rear window showing the Ferrari dealer ship in Milano, Italy where the car sold from new. We are only missing the carburetors as they were sent out for overhaul and not recovered and spare tire. The body is as solid as one could ask for super dry with an excellent panel fit the car has been well preserved with soft interior and unworn carpets. The body shows no rust or any sign of accident. Mechanically the car seems untouched with original hose clamps only the transmission has been removed to be rebuilt and was not completed. Excellent parts here to work with the car is super original and will need a repaint along with some selected chrome work and mechanical overhaul to be possibly the finest and last remaining original ASA1000gt ever built. Much attention has been given to all of Bizzarrini’s cars lately including the new car he is working on. With 52 of these built over the 5 year production period and only 13 known to exist today before the uncovering of this one the opportunity is truly obscure to realize the possibility of acquiring one. Don’t miss it as it is priced well below its potential and we don’t expect any more in soon.
Please read on as the car is described in the Automobile encyclopedia, ASA 1000 GT was a Bizzarrini design based on a proposed 'baby' Ferrari first shown at Turin in 1961, the A.S.A. GT - or 'Ferrarina' as it came to be known - was powered by a single-overhead-camshaft four-cylinder engine of 1032cc, a 'square' (69x69mm) aluminum-alloy unit producing 97bhp at 7,000rpm. Top speed was in the region of 113mph.
