1958 Porsche 356
Same owner in California since 1980. 1958 Porsche 356 A normal US deliver with over rider bumpers and guards. Chassis number 105506, engine number P*71788, they correspond properly with each other and with the tachometer so most likely they will match the certificate of authenticity from Porsche. The car is an excellent example of the 356 body with all panels, doors, hood and deck lid having the serial numbers stamped in them matching the chassis number .There are no signs of any accident damage or rust or previous rust repairs made to the car. Original floor pans still have the factory undercoating shown by the square pattern left by the rubber floor mats at the time of assembly. The battery tray area seems original solid. The doors make the proper sound when closing and the gaps are excellent all the way around the car. The hood fits great and rings to the tap with no body filler the way they are supposed to be. Mechanically the car has a nice smoke free running engine and smooth shifting transmission with nice syncros and ring gear. Lights, blinkers, wipers all working fine the car is operable and very fun as I have been driving it occasionally but the brakes need to be looked at and repairs made before any one could safely drive the car any significant distance. Cosmetically the paint still looks good but it has a small scrape on the lower passenger door the size of a baseball. Chrome is still shiny all in all it’s a nice original car that doesn’t seem to of ever been restored just maintained and repainted at some point.
