1957 Porsche 356 A

This is an original California car with both front and back yellow and black California license plates. Chassis number is 58838 with engine number 71929. The door tag for the color code shows number 607 and is described as aquamarine blue metallic in the Dr. Johnson 356 fact book. The interior is red and matches the color combination in the book. This car has the early GOLDE fabric sunroof also mentioned in the book as not being an item in the factory parts manual before 1961 and may or may not have been factory installed. The data plate next to the gas tank and the door jamb plate both have chassis numbers matching the stamped number in the chassis behind the spare tire. The data plate states the car is a 1600 and the 4500 rpm tachometer seems to match. The car has the original radio and optional Reutter luggage rack and some wire mesh headlamp grills. No cut outs for exhaust in the rear valance along with some other identifying features make the body type a t-1.The car starts up well runs and drives well shifting through all the gears. The brake lights, horn, turn signals and headlights are all in working order. Radio does not turn on and the speedometer is not working. This Porsche is lots of fun to drive and show. Everything included with the car is pictured and we have stated all we know about the car.
