1951 Jaguar MK V Three Position Drop Head
This car was parked in 1959 and had only covered 37,860 miles. We recently discovered this car in the Hollywood Hills area of Southern California. It really is hard to believe, but it is true. This is a rare opportunity to purchase such a rare 1951 Jaguar MK V three position drop head. These cars are becoming so hard to find. This model is fitted from the factory with the very rare 3 1/2 liter engine inline with the 4-speed manual gearbox. This car has never been taken apart and still remains 100% original from the factory. The car has it's original engine and gearbox with all matching numbers. The car is very complete, including the rare landau bars for the convertible top frame. It has all the original trim and moldings on the side(s). It is fitted with the correct and original bumpers. The instruments and gauges are also correct. The seats are correct as well. We just had this car fitted with four brand new tires. The car has it's original spare tire, including the jack. Please note this photo. This car has an amazingly sound and very straight body. Please note the photo with the rear trunk lid, gas cap, fenders, etc. how they all fit so nicely. This car is so original that it still has its original leather wrappings around the rear spring blades. This is a car that needs restoration due to its age and years in storage. However, it really would be hard to find a car more original than this one. The three position convertible frame it very complete but will need new wood pieces. The wood pieces in the doors will need to be replaced as well. This is very typical when restoring a car of this caliber. The car is extremely rust free. Of course, there is some surface rust in spots. All fenders and frames underneath are 100% original and accident free.
